He made an immediate impact at the start of his career, scoring an unbeaten 119 on his Ranji Trophy debut in the 2011/12 season, a knock that earned him the Player of the Match award. Amit played a key role in Himachal Pradesh’s Vijay Hazare Trophy triumph in 2021/22 - their only major trophy in the national domestic circuit. He scored 275 runs in the tournament at an average of 39.28, showcasing his ability to anchor innings and handle spin effectively. He can also bowl leg-spin if needed. While his appearances in T20 cricket have been limited in recent years, his overall body of work includes more than 3500 runs in domestic cricket. Sunrisers Hyderabad secured him for INR 30 lakh, adding an experienced option to their batting group.
